Unfiltrd Coffee Trip: COVID'S IMPACT ON MY COFFEE JOURNEY BLOG#3

March 2020, Nagpur, I was among the monkeys who travelled from Europe to India.

I am quarantined and missing almost everything, but mostly my coffee. I made the decision during this time to retire from table tennis the following year and most likely apply for my master's degree, so I was wondering what my next course of action might be.

We remained under lockdown for days, weeks, and months. Maharashtra being the most strict amongst every state in India, we were locked for the longest time. I made the decision to start learning more about coffee at that time, purchased a De Longhi espresso machine, and thus took another step towards my favourite pastime.

I began to realise how my Americano tasted so different from the speciality coffee shops in Europe where I was accustomed to getting them. I came to understand the wide variety of coffees that are available and how our nation is gradually embracing the speciality coffee trend.

Since third wave was so popular online at the time, I started placing more orders with them and learning more about how various coffee varieties interact with water.(By the way, water changes everything.)

A really pleasant barista from a coffee shop close to my house agreed to teach me how to make latte art, and I gradually began creating adorable little hearts while learning how steaming and foaming work and how every little detail matters in a coffee.

After that, I began looking for coffee courses and discovered a Blue Tokai online course on manual coffee brewing. I quickly signed up for it because ofc none of us had anywhere to go.

After cold brew, that course introduced me to V-60, my second love.

Currently, I consider making a pourover to be almost necessary; it is a part of my everyday routine, and I never consider leaving the house without making myself a cup of coffee. However, it took me years to get it to taste good. In my opinion, the grind size, water temperature, and sodium content are crucial factors for a pourover; however, the most intriguing aspect is that people continue to believe that only the coffee beans are important. Because of this, I explained in my first blog why people should start with cold brews first. They are also challenging to master, but making and understanding cold drinks is frequently simpler than hot ones.

I spent some of my time during COVID learning more about coffee in this way, and I believe I subtly nurtured my desire to launch my own coffee company.

In the other blog, I will go into further detail about this. The main purpose of this blog today, however, is to highlight how I began my coffee journey by learning and exploring. I want all cafe owners and enthusiasts to realise that even with a small cafe like mine, time and effort are crucial for everything. But with todays blog, i want everyone to understand that you gotto take conscious steps if you're really into something.

My belief is that continuing to learn will lead to growth.

This was one of my first latte art hearts ! lol

Although not many people believe me when I say that I love my cold brew, this tattoo, which was made in Frankfurt, is sufficient evidence.
